Back by popular demand, the Official “Unofficial” - Georgia Renaissance Festival Gathering is coming soon! We’re aiming for mid-May to give people a chance to check their schedules and make arrangements. There will be a photo hunt so bring your camera and the soon-to-be-made picture target list. Costumes are optional (but strongly encouraged) so dust off that sword, lace up your boots, and check back for more details.

In other news…

Our friends at Battle & Brew have been busy as ever hosting movie nights, tournaments, and themed trivia.  I can neither confirm nor deny that there are events being planned that involve that location…

This morning, I get an email from Cameron (CKKnight) Knight, letting me know that he is coming to and would like to do another WoW Addon panel this year.  After the reception that last year’s panel got, I nearly broke something (else) in an attempt to say “Yes!”.  For those of you who aren’t familiar with Mr. Knight’s work, he is the brains behind WoWAce.com , Curse Forge, and the Pitbull addon among other things.  He is also heavily involved with writing addons for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and Runes of Magic and will be joining us for those as well as the WoW Addons panel.

Just one problem.  We had set everything up to keep all of the World of Warcraft related stuff on Saturday and we are officially out of Saturday time slots.  (Yes, we are running 3 rooms concurrently all day on Saturday, and 2 rooms at the same time during the evening.)

So now we have some WoW stuff on Sunday too.

We are almost to the point where we are out of room on the schedule unless we start having a bunch of panels on Monday.  In fact, if you normally make plans to leave early on Monday, I would suggest reconsidering.

McGreevy http://www.dc-mmo.org/?p=865 [...]]]> Image Courtesy of TheBuiBrothersThose of you who were fortunate to listen to Kevin and Krystalle’s first podcast a few weeks ago might have caught the fact that Felicia Day, creator and star of The Guild, was looking to attend our little corner of the geek universe this year (you might also know her from a few of her “side projects” – Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog and the final season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer).  Well it looks we’re one step closer to seeing Kevin’s prediction become a reality.  While she hasn’t appeared on the main page of the Dragon*Con site as of this writing, her bio is now showing up on the current guest list.

Ms. Day is a self-professed avid gamer and wrote The Guild based on her own experiences playing World of Warcraft.  If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend checking the series out.  Chances are you’ll be reminded of someone you know…maybe even yourself (the first one of you that compares me to Vork is totally getting a 50 DKP minus).

Those of you who are fans of Ms. Day should also keep an eye out on the Whedon Track site to see what they have planned for her there as well!
