We have recently received word that Gaia Interactive, Wardog Studios, and Sony Online Entertainment are all interested in returning to Dragon*Con next year, and we’re certainly interested in having them back.

Combined with earlier interest from some of our other guests, we have heard from nearly everyone who hosted a panel on our track this year, and all have expressed their intentions to come back.

Does that mean we’re done getting folks?  Absolutely NOT.

More to come…

We’re currently working on remodeling the D*C MMO website to include the latest information from Dragon*Con as well as from various MMO-related sources around the ‘net.

I can also tell you that you can expect a LOT more World of Warcraft related panels and activities next year.  It also looks like we’ll be adding Tabula Rasa to our list of "Dead MMOs"

Some of you may have noticed that there was a table for Kingdom of Loathing in the fan concourse last year.  Still others may have wondered “Hey, they’re an MMO!  How come they don’t have a panel in the MMO track?”

We have corrected that HORRIBLE oversight.

I just received word from the nice blokes running the fan table that they would be interested in running a KOL panel next year.  We’re still working on getting some of the developers in on the act, but at the very least we will have a Q&A on the game itself.

What is KOL?  I would advise you to bring a good sense of humor with you when you find out. :-)

Now that we’ve revamped the site, I can actually include relevant news and information from other sources on this web page and update it more than once/blue moon.  If there is any information that you’d like to see here, or any games that you’d like to keep track of through us, please let us know so we can make it happen.

(We’re still revamping, but as soon as we’re done, you’ll hear about it.. I promise.)

We’ve taken a break from working on next year’s Dragon*Con to get ready for the upcoming release of Wrath of the Lich King.  Just a wild guess, but I’d venture to say that it will be a popular topic of discussion at the con next year.

Call me crazy.

Some early news, obviously this can change in the next 9 months…

We’re going to be back in the Sheraton next year.  Main registration and a lot of the “behind the scenes” Dragon*Con stuff will be moving there as well.  Pat, Dave, and the gang met with the Sheraton folks and they’ve really bent over backwards for us and have learned their lessons from last year.

Sony has already expressed their intention to come back next year, as has Funcom. (obviously, not etched in stone yet…)

We’re going to have 2 trivia sessions next time around, one for “hardcore MMO players” and one that is for WoW players only.

Quest Givers will have their own party on Sunday as well as a lot more support from our staff during the weekend.

There will be a lot more WoW stuff going on. (theorycrafting, raid management, lore, newbie panels, etc)

Even at this stage in the game, we only have 6 panel slots left to fill.  That’s assuming that we have 1 big room and 1 small room.  We may add on another small room for more stuff depending on how many new games get announced early next year.

We have a lot of other stuff in the early planning stages, but too early to announce yet.

Gnome Punting (and throwing) will return next year.
