And now you MMO, and MMOing is half the battle…

Well folks I promised an update as to what we are doing this year.

This year we are going game vs. game.  There will be several games listed and a place to write in your game if it is not listed(please write legibly). If you will be voting for WoW you will still have to choose (H)orde or (A)lliance. Vote for as many games as you play. The write in portion will help update the listed games for next years blood drive. Please show up for the Post MMOrtem panel on Monday.

Ok, so I had a bit of help… (Hey Guildies!)

First, the “Before”

and, nearly 4 weeks of attempts later… The “After”

What does this mean for you guys?  It means you won’t hear me bitching about this fight anymore on The SnarkCast!

Fury spec'ed orc warrior terrorizes local mall. Film at 11.

That picture is from the lovely Elizabeth Harper, but the next…ah, the next…back in the days of Target This and all that was good and full of debauchery…

Kyngllama on Emperor Dagran Thaurissan’s throne…how the dark iron dwarves must squirm at the sight. Of course, Myca and Muskullswife dancing on the sides may have something to do with that as well.

I don’t care if Monday IS blue! I’m here to cheer you up with the latest and greatest geek news on the block. I’m also kind of running out of kitschy pop-culture references to go along with Monday in my opening statements, so if you can help a brother out lemme know.

We’ve got some great news in the works for those of you who attend our track panels this year, but we’re not quite ready to reveal it yet. Suffice it to say, if you thought we had some great events last year you haven’t seen ANYTHING yet. In the meantime, though, get a load of the list below for some other fun things that are going on in the geek world.

Look who’s coming? A deity, an owner of a genie, and a skeptic.

Adam Savage – One of the amazingly wonderful people who have not only helped create some of our favorite movie models but also savagely (pun intended) destroys the myths we so haplessly cling to. http://www.adamsavage.com/tvshow.html

John de Lancie – A very enjoyable actor who has made a Star Trek deity a household name “Q”.  http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/John_de_Lancie

Larry Hagman – He played a billionaire who gets shot, and it all started with a little rub on a tacky oil lamp…

but its contents were very niiiiice.

And if we threw them all into a show together we might get… “Q” got Busted for Dreaming of Jeannie?

Never mind, I tried too hard again.

We have a World of Warcraft survey for you guys to take.  The survey is anything-but-scientific, but we will definitely put the results to good use.  Please help us out and fill out the survey! (There are no wrong answers, this is all a matter of opinion.)

You can check out more of her work on her website, PVPGurl.com.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is slated to come out spring of next year and it sounds pretty awesome to me.   What excites me about TOR is not the fact that its a Star Wars MMO, but the fact that Bioware is doing it, and I’m a huge fan of their work.  I am, however, somewhat skeptic as to how a story driven MMO is going to work out.  I mean, can a true MMO be story driven?  Will the game still be worth playing once I’ve reached the end of this story.  I’m sure there will be plenty of replay value with many different paths you can travel to reach the end but still.  In my mind, an MMO is an ever evolving process that I build on every time I log in.  Anything else, sounds like KOTOR with multiplayer.  I am a huge fan of KOTOR and the thought of playing it online with multiple players sounds awesome!  I know there will be expansions and patches and the game will change and evolve from the developers, I just don’t think it will be long lived.  I hope I’m wrong, and it turns out to be a huge hit and take over everyone’s lives.  Just remember, if it does don’t wait until a drive by hooker steals your debit card before you cancel your WoW subscription.

First, the bad news. SnarkCast will run a little late this week. (gosh, I hope you can forgive us… After all, it’s not like we’re going 6 weeks between shows anymore.)

Now the good news!

Sandeep Parikh, better known as Zaboo from “The Guild” has confirmed as a guest for Dragon*Con this year!   Of course we’re still hard at work getting more goodies for the MMO track, but we figured that you guys would want to know about this ASAP.
